A house is not a machine to live in.

It is the shell of man, his extension,
his release, his spiritual emanation.

A collaboration with the museum
Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo

To design for a space like the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo means approaching it with respect, intervening with subtlety, and creating for those who move through it and keep it alive every day.

More than a design exercise, this project was an opportunity to engage in dialogue with a place that holds the presence of two essential figures in Mexico’s cultural history. Every decision was made with the conviction that design, even in its quietest form, can support, organize, and care for spaces that are part of our collective memory.

"Our thinking is a constant flow between the subjective and the functional, the craft and the market, technique and art."

We are Andrea Flores and Lucía Soto. We have worked designing together since 2010. In 2014 we founded Comité de Proyectos, a company dedicated to interior design and furniture sales, located in Mexico City.

The thing that we enjoy the most about our work is translating emotions and sensations into utilitarian objects and living spaces. That is: the process of internalizing. We like to create transcendent, durable and timeless pieces, with a contemporary style working hand to hand in collaboration with artisanal workshops. We work with materials that communicate warmth, such as wood or stone in their natural state, and with subtle colors that reflect peace and tranquility.

At Comité de Proyectos we study the relationship between the individual and their spaces to be able to obtain a deep understanding of the dynamics in each home or business and, in this way, be able to reinterpret our clients' vision, generating tailored design proposals. We believe in objects as relevant cultural imprints and actors in reality’s different planes.

Together with our team of designers and artisans, we have designed and produced more than 250 residential and commercial interior design projects, such as hotels, restaurants, and co-workings, among other spaces.

Likewise, we developed four collections of sculptural objects that have been exhibited in museums and galleries in Mexico and Europe; and we also have an extensive catalog of line furniture for residential and commercial use.

Our thinking is a constant flow between the subjective and the functional, the craft and the market, as well as technique and art.
